Il "pirulo" è un buffo cappellino fatto a maglia, dalla forma un po' bombata e con un piccolo tassello in cima (il pirulo!).
Il primo nome era "essential beanie" perché volevo buttar giù uno schema semplice per un berrettino classico con orlo a coste e maglia rasata, per utilizzare una lana worsted tinta a mano, 100 grammi per 200 metri.
Poi però la stella ad otto spicchi sulla corona ha creato questa forma a panettone (perfettamente in tema con la stagione) e la voglia di una chiusura diversa dal solito ha generato una roba che non sapevo come definire... un pirulo, appunto.
Lo schema è semplicissimo, eppure il berretto è buffo (e in 3 taglie).
Filato: Drops Alaska (100gx200m),
(sufficiente per creare un berretto piccolo ed uno grande)
Ferri: 6mm (o della misura adatta al campione) e 5mm per il bordo.
Si lavora in circolare con set ferri a doppia punta, oppure circolari da 40cm e set per la corona, oppure con circolari più lunghi con metodo magic loop (*)
Campione: 14 maglie in 10cm, a maglia rasata
Taglia: XS (bimbo piccolo) - S (adulto) - M/L (adulto)
Con il ferro 5mm avvia morbidamente 64 (72, 80) maglie.
Lavora in circolare a coste 2/2 for 12 (14, 16) giri.
Cambia il ferro e lavora 14 (18, 20) giri a maglia rasata.

Giro3: 5 dritti (6, 7), 2 dritti insieme

Spezza il filo. Fissa e nascondi le codine.
(*) il cappellino in teoria può essere lavorato piatto anziché circolare, e quindi cucito su un lato; in tal caso i giri pari (in questo caso righe) vanno lavorati a rovescio per mantenere la maglia rasata.

"Pirulo" is a funny knitted hat, roundish and with a small piece on top (that's pirulo, a fantasy name).
Its first name was "essential beanie" because I wanted to write down a simple pattern for a classic beanie with ribbed hem and stockinette stitch, in order to get a very easy pattern for my worsted handdyed yarn (100 grams x 200 meters).
But the eight segments of the crown reminded me a panettone (the italian Christmas cake!) and the desire for a different ending generated a thing I didn't know how to define ... a pirulo, indeed.
The pattern is easy, yet the result is amusing!
Yarn: Drops Alaska worsted (100gx200m approx)
Needles: 6mm (dpns, or 40cm circular and dpns, or circular with magic loop method) and 5mm for cuff.
Gauge: 14 sts in 10cm (stockinette st)
Size: toddler (adult small, adult M/L)
With 5mm needle CO 64 (72, 80) sts
Join and work rib2/2 for 12 (14, 16) rounds
Change the needle and work 14 (18, 20) rounds in stockinette st.
Decreasing part:
R1: K6 (7, 8), K2tog
R2: knit
R3: K5 (6, 7), K2tog
R4: knit
R5: K4 (5, 6), K2tog
R6: knit
R7: K3 (4, 5), K2tog
R8: knit
R9: K2 (3, 4), K2tog
R10: knit
R11: K1 (2, 3), K2tog
Size toddler: Size small: Size medium:

Break yarn. Close with a darning needle. Weave in ends.
